A Final Touch of Elegance
Completed September 2025
Given the opportunity to remodel some existing features, as well as install some new elements of our own, we had a blast pulling together this project.
At the front of the house, we installed a new set of stone steps — a complement to the cultured stone veneer that encases the front entry doorway.
Starting with a wide sweeping radial step, this beautiful stair set exudes sturdiness while maintaining a timeless design. To create a comfortable rise of 6 inches per step, we layered 4″ riser stones with 2″ surface stones, resulting in an attractive 2:1 ratio as well as providing some much-needed visual variation.
Around the side of the house, we helped our client remodel an existing retaining wall that had some structural design flaws, and was not holding up.
To meet our client’s wish to use the original stones, we tracked down the last remaining stones from an off Island supplier, as they hadn’t been in production for years. We all breathed a sigh of relief when they finally arrived on site!
With a few structural tweaks, this retaining wall now has a fresh new start.
